You work as a duo: what gave you the impetus to create TRAMA together?
That's a great question! It's a story that comes from both sides. From Cynthia's side, my partner, who had already worked with alpaca for several years in Paris. And from my side, because I came to Paris eight years ago to study, and my Master's thesis was about the potential of Peruvian alpaca in European fashion markets. So, it perfectly aligned with the vision I had had for a long time. Working with Cynthia, we make a great team, so it was truly perfect.
TRAMA is an intersection between France and Peru, can you tell me more about it?
Yes, TRAMA truly exists at the intersection of France and Peru. The Peru side: For the raw material, meaning 'Baby Alpaca', which is a superior quality wool. And the France side: For the style, of course! We are in Paris, the capital of fashion. Everything concerning the silhouette, the details, the small embroideries... we are truly inspired by the essence of Parisian chic.
Your clothes are unique pieces: what makes each creation singular?
The uniqueness and authenticity of each piece at TRAMA come from the work of our artisans and suppliers based in Peru. We have been working with them for a long time. What makes them singular is the fact that everything is handmade: hand-knitted, hand-brushed... each small embroidery is unique. Moreover, we work in different cities in Peru, such as Lima or Cusco. Even when we buy certain raw materials, they are in limited colors or types of knits that you wouldn't find anywhere else. So there's a very strong sense of exclusivity in our collections.
If you could slip a message into every TRAMA garment, what would it say?
We truly try to be authentic and sincere in our approaches, in every sense of the word. The fashion industry is changing a lot today, especially the luxury sector, but we want to offer superior quality pieces with ethical and eco-responsible work. The idea is to share this bicultural spirit of which we are very proud.
