How did the idea of "mismatched" come about?
The idea of mismatching arose from a rather simple thought: society often pushes us to match, to follow codes. But sometimes, one morning, we feel like breaking these patterns and mismatching. For us, mismatching is a small act of freedom, almost a mini-revolution.
That said, nothing is left to chance. Colors, textures, and details must converse like puzzle pieces. This is our way of creating accessories and clothes that intrigue, surprise, and tell a story.
Which piece best embodies the spirit of UN/PAIR?
All our accessories clearly express the UN/PAIR concept, but for winter, it's particularly our fingerless gloves. They are small, ambidextrous fingerless gloves that can be worn matched or mismatched. And there's always that little final touch, like a hyphen, that allows them to be worn on one side or the other while maintaining a certain elegance.
Your creations tell stories. What's the latest one you want to share?
All our creations are stories to wear. They are born from the mixing and matching of very different fabrics, materials, universes, and inspirations.
For example, for our new collars, we mixed patterns borrowed from men's sports shirts with faux fur inspired by large collars from the sixties. To this, we added a sporty touch with a lace closure, and funny little balls that remind us of the marbles we played with as children.
For you, what does "Made in Italy" represent today?
"Made in Italy" primarily means attention to detail and quality materials. It's also the possibility of having our pieces made in small family workshops where know-how is passed down from generation to generation.
What would you like customers to feel when they discover your pieces at Point Physique?
I'd like them to be intrigued by our creations, perhaps even amused by our philosophy and aesthetic. And above all, to feel the quality, precision, and attention to detail present in each of our accessories and garments.
