Who are you, how did Damyas come about?
Hello, my name is Hela. I am the founder of Damyas, a brand that selects exceptional materials, once reserved for royalty or special occasions, and reintroduces them into everyday life. Damyas was truly born from the material itself, specifically from the silk shantung that I saw one day in a store. It's a material I adore because it reflects light. It has imperfections, irregularities, and for me, that's what makes it perfect.
If you had to choose one piece to wear all summer, what would it be?
I'm torn between the pants, which for me are very comfortable, and a piece that doesn't exist yet and on which I'm currently working: a very oversized short-jumpsuit, easy to put on, with no buttons or zippers. For me, it's very simple to style, whether with mules, Birkenstocks, sneakers, or heels.
Your dream collaboration?
It would be with a photographer and director named Tyron Lebon. He's quite young; he has worked with Dua Lipa, among others, and on several films. He recently directed the Alaïa campaign and has an exceptional eye.
A country you dream of visiting?
For me, it would definitely be India. I haven't had the chance to visit this country yet, but I hope to do so soon.
The color you can't live without?
This is the hardest question for me because I love all colors! Proof: for my collection, I used all the shades of silk shantung. Maybe green; I have all shades of green in my home.
The future for DAMYAS?
I'm also launching a men's capsule collection. The ambition is to see Damyas in every wardrobe, for both men and women.
