How did you create Maison 75?
I created Maison 75 in 2016 with the idea of making timeless clothes for women, especially in my country, initially. Because I wanted them to be a bit more classic. I wanted the pieces to be investments rather than items you keep for a few years and then discard. From the beginning, the idea was to pass the pieces down to your daughters, share them with your sister, or give them as a beautiful gift. But for it to come more from the heart, not just be a piece of clothing.

What was the very first garment that marked the Maison 75 adventure?
In Panama, there are a lot of weddings, so we wear gowns, which are evening dresses. I made my very first dress for myself, for a wedding, and everyone asked me where it was from. That's how I started with custom-made items at first, and then I made a small capsule collection for myself. That's how I got into ready-to-wear, actually.
How did growing up in Panama shape your view on fashion and creation?
I was at the French high school and I've always been in contact with the French language. We spent all our summers in Paris when I was little with my parents and my sister. And so I've always looked at style since I was very young.
If you could offer one of your pieces to a woman, which woman would it be and why?
Well, first of all, it would be the Mademoiselle 75 shirt, it's my bestseller. It's also the piece I hold dear to my heart because it took me 8 months to make it exactly as it is. It was made from a men's shirt pattern. It was adapted to the female body, without being too wide, too masculine, and always maintaining a sense of femininity in the piece. And I think I would give it to my grandmother. Because she's a woman who has inspired me since I was little. Just like my mother. Both are extraordinary women. And I'd like to be like them. I admire them because they are very strong women.

If Maison 75 were a color, which one would it be?
That's very easy. It would be navy blue. Navy blue, as I like to call it. Because I don't really like black. I think it's quite aggressive to the eye. When you see it, it's heavy on the eye. Even in winter. And if it has to be something dark, navy blue is more chic.
How do you imagine the future of your brand?
The dream would be for people to say "Oh yes, that must be a Maison 75." Because my creations are very simple, they are very classic but there is always something extra, a small detail, something that is different. And for people to be able to recognize the brand. After that, I would like it to be worldwide. For it not to stay only in Panama, because Panama is very small. I would like it to be known all over the world.
