Han Nguyen, founder of GammeCOLLECTIVE

Who are you?

My name is Han Nguyen, I am Vietnamese, but I have been living in Paris for seven years. I came to Paris to study fashion management. I stayed to work and I am still here.

How did you get the idea to start a business and create GammeCOLLECTIVE?

At first, I really wanted to create a collective of Vietnamese designers and showcase their products here in France. I started with that, did some research, and realized that actually, clothes and designs, whether for women or men, can share the same pieces, which is why I found the word "gamme." The word "gamme" in French and Vietnamese has the same definition.

Who/what inspires you today?

Today, and even from the beginning, my inspirations are women or people on the street, no matter their nationality. I find that they all have a different vibe, something special.

It's people in general.

Your favorite piece?

It's mostly very simple pieces, like simple dresses, simple shirts, or simple pants, all made of silk, but I would say especially the simple shirt. Because I find that the simplicity of the piece goes well with the special silk material. Moreover, it can be worn in different ways.

And tomorrow?

As before, I will always create collections with materials from Vietnam. I would like to be more connected with Vietnamese designers. Also, perhaps develop Gamme Collective, have a larger community, but not just in France, maybe in Europe and internationally, like in the United States.
