Tell us all about Margot Hauser.

So, I went to a fashion school in Paris, it was the École de la Chambre Syndicale, for three years. I graduated in 2020. I had some experiences in fashion after that, and in 2023, I resigned from where I was working. I was offered a trip to India, without really knowing where it would lead, but I said yes, because you have to follow your instinct and adventure. So, in September 2023, I went to India and there, I discovered silver work. I learned to work with silver, to make jewelry, I design and create the pieces directly. In Jaipur, I also discovered semi-precious stones. I select each stone, one by one. That was really the discovery during my stay in India. I returned three months later. It was an intense and very, very rich three months. I came back to France in December 2023 and let time do its work. I took pictures of my pieces, launched my website, my Instagram, all that. In July 2024, I officially launched my brand: my website is ready, and that's it. It's really the universe I've developed, everything I have in my head, all the fashion or artistic images I've accumulated over the years, that are reflected in my brand. It's what touches me the most.

Your best memory in India?

There are too many, it's very difficult to choose, especially since I've been there several times and for quite long periods. But I think it's in Jaipur, in the stone market, in all these shops where I discover new stones every time. We open a box, it's magical, we discover colors and universes. In some stones, I manage to find paintings that have greatly marked me, the work of artists... There's a stone, a raw tourmaline, that reminds me of Pierre Soulages' paintings. All of this echoes many things and makes me very emotional every time. I really like the stone work in Jaipur. After that, obviously, I love everything, there's something where all the senses are awake. I love the smells, the sounds, the colors too. It's very different from here, and it's true that this stimulation does a lot of good. Even for creativity, it's really very stimulating, and I love everything.

Your daily source of motivation?

Well, it's a bit cliché, but I'd say seeing the pride of my loved ones does me a lot of good. And also, of course, it's a project I'm doing all by myself. I choose everything. I'm very surrounded, but I did every design myself, and even down to the packaging,   I do everything myself. It's really about recreating the universe I have in my head, and that motivates me a lot to keep going.

Your favorite piece?

Again, it's very difficult to choose a favorite piece. I would say it's the cuff, I really like it. I like the way it reflects light, I find it very minimalist, and at the same time, I like it very much. Then, I have the new Magma pendants, which are all unique, with stones I chose one by one, and laces I find. I really love them very much.

And tomorrow?

For upcoming projects, we'll continue to quietly develop my brand, making calm choices, and also continue to create pieces. I still have a lot of designs that I haven't had time to realize. So, manufacturing in my small workshop, and going back to India, that will be next year, but still! And that's it.
