Romane Santal, founder of Nue de.main

Who are you?

I'm Romane, the founder of the innovative French lingerie brand Nue de.main. Nue de.main is the first French lingerie brand to incorporate a 3D printed design.

Why lingerie?

When I entered the fashion world, I wanted to work with a delicate and intricate product. So, lingerie was really perfect for that. And by creating my brand, it allowed me to design an entire universe and product from A to Z, including styling, pattern making, and manufacturing.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

To create Nue de.main lingerie, I draw inspiration from the ancestral know-how of lingerie, but also from other art professions. That's why each model and collection bears a name from Greek mythology, to recall this ancestral aspect, this essence, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. The lingerie remains contemporary, however, as the shapes and materials are chosen to stay current.

What's your favorite piece?

My favorite piece is the Pénélope corset with the 3D print on the front. Why this piece? Simply because it can be worn in many different ways, whether under a jacket, over a shirt, over a dress... It cinches the waist and adds a little extra to the outfit with its lacing at the back.

Your playlist?

When working on Nue de.main products, I tend to listen to singers like Solann, Barbara Pravi, or Coline Rio. Their music is quite gentle, full of inspiring lyrics. It’s really something that inspires me.

And tomorrow?

In the near future for Nue de.main, I'd like to create new collections with new products, always offering new shapes to appeal to the widest possible range of women, as well as new colors. For now, we're focusing on black, which is timeless, but why not later offer white and nude colors to fully integrate into an outfit.
